Civ+ works best on Minecraft 1.8.9. The vanilla minecraft launcher doesn’t make this easy, so Parker, one of the admins of Civ+ made a video about how to setup the superior version of minecraft.
Quick tutorial on how to play our server.
First, go to minecraft.net. If you already have a microsoft and minecraft account, go ahead and log in. If not, register and grab a copy of the java edition of the game. Once you’re signed in, download the legacy launcher just below the main download link.
Run the launcher setup, then sign in. From here, go to “installations”, then “new installation”, and under “version”, scroll down until you find version 1.8.9. Now you don’t have to use this older version, but the server is design to be most performant on this version. From here, create your installation, then click play. You’re all set up!
To connect to the server simply click “multiplayer”, “add server” and enter the server address “play.civ.plus”
